Derby Days, is a week-long philanthropy event organized by my Fraternity, Sigma Chi. This event had been on hiatus since 2018 when it successfully raised $68,000 for The Huntsman Foundation for Cancer Research. Motivated by this past success, my friends and I set out to not only revive the event but also surpass its previous achievements.

As part of the planning committee, I took the lead in developing and designing the website that held the donation link and the raffle system. I designed the graphics for the event on social media, created a system for people to buy raffle tickets for items, and ensured a clean UI/UX for both mobile and desktop users to navigate to the donation link. I also integrated a seamless payment system, including Apple Pay on mobile devices and regular online payment options on the desktop. I bought the domain rights for suderbydays2023, and managed the website to keep it up and running throughout the week-long event. The site accumulated over 3,000 sessions. The website and raffle system were a resounding success, contributing to the overall fundraising efforts. I am confident that this digital approach will be continued in the future, further generating funds for this worthy cause.

I am now delighted to share that our determination and hard work have paid off. We've managed to break the Syracuse University philanthropy fundraising record, raising over $80,000 in total during the 2023 Derby Days. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone else who played a role in making this fundraiser a tremendous success. Thank you all for the donations!
